Spopielony is a project, which has been brought to life as a result of my fascination of lo-fi aesthetics (when it comes to generes, dungeon synth is a primary one) and broadly defined hauntology. On grounds of its surrealistic, abstract atmosphere, I prefer to define my music as hypnagogic dungeon synth, inspired by obliterated gleams of consciousness and nostalgia. Misty and very ambiguous music, sounding like from behind the wall or from under the water. On “Legendy...” I’m referring to more ambient-oriented side - depressive silence, secret stairways and essoupi. I was trying to get a real cassette-like sound, the one you can associate with damaged, used and deteriorated VHS tapes (“legenda o” was supposed to sound like soundtrack from old, obscure and totally unknown soviet fantasy film, played from next generations’ cassettes). Despite its “dungeon” atmosphere, when it comes to the album’s body, it is not strictly connected with fantasy. There is a lot of cosmic and horror influences (space ambient, horror synth), onirism, metaphysics, poetry and art - all of these, incorporated into the whole album, make a clear picture of what influence me the most. However, the core of it is connected with nostalgia and following fantasia.
